Elizabeth Breland Axson RUFFIN, SC - Mrs. Elizabeth Breland Axson, widow of Robert D. Axson, died Monday at the Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg. She was 94. Mrs. Axson was born Sept. 25, 1919 in Ruffin, a daughter of the late Henry Frank Breland and Ella Crosby Breland. She was a retired nursing assistant for Dr. B.C. Phillips, and was a lifelong member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Ruffin. She is survived by her children: Robert D. Axson, Jr. and his wife Judy of Columbia, and Kay Axson Johnson and her husband Watson, of Chapin. There are two grandchildren: Robert Dennis Axson III and his wife Melissa of Columbia, and Elizabeth Anne Myers and her husband Pat of Bowman. She leaves behind a great-grandchild, Cody Axson; and four special nieces: Doris Reeves, Mary Taylor, Louise Crosby and Jean Parker. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Axson Kinard. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul St., Walterboro, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either The Oaks Resident Assistance Fund, P.O.
