George Ernest Fell IV Greensboro, Ga. - George Ernest Fell IV, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2018. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on November 24, 1946 to the late George and Cora Lee Fell. He was the oldest of two children. George is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Theresa McGorty Fell, his oldest son, George Fell V of Greensboro, Georgia, son Stephen Fell (Amanda) of Walnut Creek, California, and daughter, Blair Kilgore (Marcus) of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Mims (Robbie) of Holly Hill, South Carolina, and his brother-in-law, John McGorty of New York, New York. He is also survived by five grandchildren, George VI, Avery, Felix, Melina, and Owen, as well as eight nieces and nephews. George grew up in Charleston, South Carolina where he graduated from Bishop England High School in 1966. He went on to get his Bachelor's degree from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina in 1970. George retired in 2014 from Atlantic Relocation Systems in Atlanta where he worked as a salesman for 40 years. George had a passion for traveling and spending time with his family, as well as a love for music and art. He coached his children in soccer and basketball for over 12 years and was a member of the Catholic church. George Fell IV was an exuberant man who loved sharing his sense of humor, worldly experience, fondness for cooking, gardening, fishing and being outdoors with family and friends. Throughout his life, George touched so many people, not only as a soccer coach, mentor and salesman, but also as a father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was truly a person full of life, love, laughter and he will be missed by so many. No services will be held. Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, Georgia, is in charge of arrangements.
