James "Barry" Granger N. Charleston - James "BARRY" Granger, 69, of North Charleston, passed away on Thursday August 9, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 13, 1949 in Charleston, SC to the late DJ and Helen Granger. Barry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. He was also the owner of Hulls Exxon. He was married to the love of his life Shirley Johnson Granger for 50 years. Along with her, he is survived by his son, Jimmy (Tonya) Granger, of North Charleston, and a daughter, Lori (Eddy) Barwick, of North Charleston, six grandchildren, Derrick, Taylor, Drake, Abigail, Ashlynn, and Madison, a brother, Larry Joe (Connie) Granger, a sister, Paula (Jerry) Amerson, of Wilson, NC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Barry was preceded in death by a sister. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston, with a funeral service following at 2:00 pm, burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
