JoAnn Porter SUMMERVILLE - JoAnn Sullivan Porter, 82, of Summerville, widow of John Willard Porter, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Village of Summerville. A memorial service will be held at Summerville Presbyterian Church at a later date. The service date and time will be published in the church bulletin. JoAnn was born on February 9, 1931 in Charlotte, NC daughter of the late John Craig Sullivan and Johnsie Ziegler Sullivan. JoAnn was a registered nurse and spent many years attending to the needs of patients at Trident Hospital. She was very much loved by all of her many friends. JoAnn was a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church and prior to experiencing a number of health issues, she enjoyed traveling, was an active member of her bridge club and an accomplished gardener. JoAnn was also a humanitarian with a big heart. She quietly supported causes related to wildlife conservation and the needs of underprivileged children. When her health began to decline she moved from her home on Dogwood Circle to The Village of Summerville and remained there until her passing. She is survived by her grandsons, Mathew Frampton, a Naval officer stationed in Pennsylvania and Christopher Frampton of Tampa, FL.
