Doctor Joseph Patrick Markovich D.C. MT. PLEASANT - Dr. Joseph Patrick Markovich D.C., 56, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. Born December 16, 1954 in Hammond, IN to Robert and Donna Markovich. He attend Hammond High School graduating in 1973, received an undergraduate degree from Wabash College (1977), and his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic (1983). He wed the love of his life Nancy Leach on January 2, 1982. Joseph was the owner of Markovich Chiropractic in the Pittsburgh, PA area for 18 years, and of Mount Pleasant Family Health Group in the Mount Pleasant, SC area for 10 years. Survivors include; mother, Donna Markovich from IN; wife, Nancy Leach, originally from Monongahela, PA; sons, Phillip Markovich(Tara) from Columbia, SC, Paul Markovich and Daniel Markovich from Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Sandra Nunes (Felipe) from Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Eva and Emily Markovich, Christine Nunes and Jaden Pitner; brothers, Robert (Nanci) from IL, Paul (Helen) from Texas, Matthew (Kim) from IL, John (Julie) from NC, Daniel (Danette) from IN, William (Beth) from IA; sisters Patricia Poindexter (Ronnie) from VA and Kathy Brazzale (Steve) from IN. He is also survived by countless neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by father Robert Markovich. Joe enjoyed most of all being a loving grandfather to his four grandchildren cherishing every moment he had with them. He will be forever missed. Funeral Mass and reception will be held at St. Benedicts Catholic Church located at 950 Darrell Creek Rd, Mt. Pleasant, by Monsignor Chet Moczydlowski on Sat., October 8, at 11:00 am.
