Madeleine Ozmore Boatwright WALTERBORO - Mrs. Madeleine Ozmore Boatwright, 80, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday morning, March 28, 2014, at the Lake Crossing Health Center in Appling, Georgia near where she has spent the last few years of her life in Augusta. She was the loving wife of forty years to Mr. Bert Boatwright. Funeral services will be conducted 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, March 31, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Daniel Cooper and The Reverend Myron Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. Born July 16, 1933, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Dudley Ozmore and the late Effie Carter Ozmore. She spent her career in life as a weaver and cloth inspector having been employed prior to her retirement by J.P. Stevens, Inc. in Walterboro and Graniteville Company in Graniteville. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of both the Jaycees and Lions Club and during her children's school years had served as President of the PTA in their Schools. She will be fondly remembered for her love and talent of craft work. The oldest of five generations, she is survived by: four children, Kathryn McLerren of North Charleston, Kay Guilford and her husband Wayne of Augusta, Georgia, Larry Boatwright and his wife Barbara of Cordele, Georgia, and Lynne Bruins and her husband Ricky of Stoneville, North Carolina; and a sister, Juandie Wright of Cincinnati, Ohio. There are eight grandchildren, Shawn Cahill, Michele Guilford, Crystal Williams, Tina Cobb, Cindy Boatwright, Shannon Bruins, Patrick Boatwright and Lee Boatwright; eleven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Augusta, Trevor, Jason, Blake, Dylan, Dean, Noah, Kayla, Lily, and Connor; and two great-great-grandchildren, Dreyton and Annabell. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Boatwright; a grandson, Edward Leon Boatwright; and two brothers, Buddy Ozmore and Frankie Ozmore. The family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation to the staff of Lake Crossing Health Center and CareSouth Hospice for the loving care and devotion these organizations provided to Mrs. Boatwright.
