Born in Stuttgart, Germany, he was the son of Aileen Swartz Sunshine and the late Harry Coleman Sunshine. A PGA golf professional, he graduated from the College of Charleston where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega "ATO" fraternity. Marc began his golf career early as a cart boy for Wildewood Country Club and over the years, he worked at the Country Club of Charleston, was the head golf professional at Rivertowne Country Club, and most recently was the Vice President of marketing and sales for RBI Blackwater Divers. He was a founding board member of the First Tee of Greater Charleston where he shared his passion for golf with others. Marc never met a stranger. He was surrounded and celebrated by his family during life as he was during his final days. Marc touched so many lives in so many ways. He was somebody special to each of us: Sunshine, Goob, Shine, Uncle Bubba, Bud, Markey, and Dude, just to name a few. The sun will have a little less Shine, but his Sunshine will always be bright. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Amy Younginer (Erik) of Columbia; fiance;e, his "Shine", Emily Long of Columbia; his special uncle, Alan Swartz of Fitchburg, Mass.; aunt, Beverly Shechtman (Stanley) of Lynnfield, Mass.; nieces, Mallory and Alexa Younginer; nephew, Harrison Younginer; along with many more aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Harry, and aunt, Judi Swartz. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to S.C. Junior Golf Foundation, PO Box 286, Irmo, SC 29063 (www.scjgf.org) or First Tee of Greater Charleston, 109 Wappoo Creek Drive, Charleston, SC 29412 (www.charlestonfirsttee.com).
