Mary Edith "Edie" Boyette Davis N. CHARLESTON - Mary Edith "Edie" Boyette Davis was born on September 22, 1929, in Horry County. She was the 9th of 10 Children, born to Stephen and Cora Boyette. She attended school in Horry County and Winthrop College. She worked her way up to Export Sales Coordinator of International Sales of the Custom Chemical Division of Westvaco and retired after 39 years of service. During her career, she was very active in promoting the shipping industry locally and internationally. She credited herself as one of many females that helped pave the way for females in management positions in our modern business world. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of The Oaks Country Club, where she played in the senior and women's leagues. She bowled for many years in the Sunshine Senior Bowling League. She is survived by her three children, Michael H. Davis (David) of Durham, NC, Stephanie D. Campbell (Thomas) of North Charleston and Jeffrey C. Davis (Donna) of Goose Creek; three grandchildren, Heather Wilson (David) of Hanahan, Ashley Sawyer (Andrew Crabtree) of Summerville and Ariana Davis of Goose Creek; two great-grandsons, Logan Wilson and Garrett Sawyer; three sisters, Lucille Hardin of Mt. Pleasant, Virginia Stroud of Loris, and Katherine Gay of Apex, NC; and a sister-in-law, Cathy Isom of Johns Island and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, March 9, 2014, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
