Mazie Hadwin Ishum GRANITE CITY, IL - Mazie L. Hadwin Ishum, 68, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:26 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home. She was born January 16, 1945 in Varnville, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Jessie and Bridie (Tutten) Hadwin. She married Kenneth C. Ishum on August 25, 1960 in Hampton, South Carolina and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2008. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her days of quilting and playing bingo. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Calvary Lighthouse Church in Granite City and had also worked at American Steel with 8 years of dedicated service as a core operator. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Jeff Ishum and fiance;e, Jan Goodson; Kenneth D. Ishum and wife, Karen and Gary Ishum and wife, Alicia; one daughter, Laura Hozian and husband, Carl, all of Granite City; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert T. Ishum and four brothers, Charles, W.B., Merilee and Ferril. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 2801 Madison Avenue in Granite City on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Doug Bowers officiating.
