Norma Stone WALTERBORO - Mrs. Norma Connelly Stone, 97, of Dowling Avenue in Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday morning, March 17, 2013, at The Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg. She was the wife of the late Mr. Rufus E. "Rusty" Stone. Funeral services will be conducted 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2013, from the graveside at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort. The Reverend Dr. Aubrey Floyd officiating. Born December 10, 1915, a native of Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Connelly and the late Mary Breland Connelly. She was a graduate of the Dunbarton High School and received formal education from the Erlanger School of Nursing in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a registered nurse having retired from the State of South Carolina Home Health Services. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro where she was a member of the Miriam Clark Sunday School Class. Surviving are: a son, Joe Stone and his wife Celeste of Walterboro; a brother, William D. Connelly of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister, Mary Anne Cucinelli of West Palm Beach, Florida. There are two grandchildren, Dr. Michael Stone and his wife Kerri of Anderson and Mary Celeste White and her husband Ryan of Tuson, Arizona; and three great grandchildren, Lilly Stone, Lauren Stone, and Luke Stone. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Frank Connelly, Ralph Connelly, and M. Dean Connelly; and two sisters, Geneva Osteen and Josie C. Wright. In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to the following: First Baptist Church of Walterboro, 124 South Memorial Avenue, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to, Gideon's International, Post Office Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee 37214.
