Ricky Lee Howell MT. PLEASANT - Ricky Lee Howell, 59, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Saturday, December 8, 2012. A Celebration of Ricky's Life will be held at his home on Saturday, December 15 at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Ricky was born January 28, 1953 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, son of Carolyn Baker Howell Allen and the late Daniel W. Howell. A journeyman carpenter, Ricky was proud to have worked on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and even appeared in the documentary about the construction of the bridge. He also worked on the historic Post Office at the Four Corners of Law in Charleston, repairing the woodwork and moulding by hand. Among his other projects were movie sets, including "Swamp Thing" in which he appeared as an extra. Ricky was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed Dr. Who. The highlight of Ricky's life was playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Baker Allen and her husband, George H. Allen of Mount Pleasant, SC; his daughter, Julia Anna Howell and her husband, Dan Johnson of Summerville, SC; his three grandchildren, Kimberly C. Duc of Summerville, SC, Nathaniel Johnson of Summerville, SC, and Alexander Johnson of Summerville, SC; and his two sisters, Brenda Cooley of Mt.
