Robin Sterling Jackson YONGES ISLAND, SC - Robin Sterling Jackson, 67, of Yonges Island, SC, died of natural causes in Charleston on August 3, 2015. Robin was born to Ralph Simmons Jackson and Marion Paterson Jackson in Rockledge, Florida. He graduated from the Citadel in 1969, served in the United States Marine Corps and was a longshoreman. Robin is survived by his wife, lin kuhl jay, and three children, Lucien, Dashiell and Zola Jay. He also is survived by his oldest son, Che Jackson, his brothers, Tad and Dusty Jackson, and his mother, Marion Jackson. His life will be celebrated at a private family gathering in Florida. "Let me rest in the arms of Slumber, for my open eyes are tired; Let the silver-stringed lyre quiver and soothe my spirit; Weave from the harp and lute a veil around my withering heart...The songs of the waves and the hymns of the streams Are scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence; And I can hear naught but the music of Eternity In exact harmony with the spirit's desires. I am cloaked in full whiteness; I am in comfort; I am in peace."- from Kahlil Gibran's The Beauty of Death XIV. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston

Rest in peace, Old Friend & Semper Fi. We attended The Basic School together and then I saw him in Vietnam. We served together in Marine Barracks, Philippines and I last saw him in Matt Kane's, Washington, DC in 1976 when he had just returned from Africa. A very old warrior's soul from a different time & place.
