Roger Allen Vargo, Sr. PINEVILLE, SC - Entered into eternal rest on the evening of Tuesday February 4, 2014, Roger Allen Vargo, Sr. of Pineville, S.C. The relatives and friends of Roger Allen Vargo, Sr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 3:30 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call from the hours of 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. He was born on September 21 1934 in Ashtabula, OH to the late Theodore J. Vargo and Helen Voytek Vargo. He was a Retired Sr. Research Analyst with WestVaco with 42 years of employment. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Hunting Club and an Avid Fisherman. He was Catholic in faith and recently attended North Bridge Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Chicora High School and attended The University of South Carolina. He is survived by one son Roger T. Vargo (April) of Pineville; two daughters, Ruth Anne Venable (Louis) of Charleston, Rhonda Vargo Mayfield (John Larry) of Summerville; Nine grandchildren, Theodore James Vargo and Nickolas Allen Vargo, both of Pinevile, Lauren Venable Hammond (Nick) of Spartanburg, Lindsay Victoria Hobbs (Jeremy) of Greenville, Luke Allen Venable of Charleston, Sarah Alene Vargo of Summerville, Katelyn Vargo Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Matthew Bryce Mayfield of Summerville and Jeffrey Ryan Mayfield of Summerville. He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Vargo Sitmer.
