Warren E. "Pete" Dambaugh, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - Warren E. Dambaugh, Jr., 70, of Summerville, SC, died Saturday, July 12, 2014 of a heart attack at Trident Hospital. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the Riverbend Baptist Church, 1001 Michigan Avenue at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. Pete was born May 6, 1944 in Ellwood City, PA, son of the late Warren E. Dambaugh, Sr. and the late Margaret R. Dambaugh. "Pete," as he was affectionately known to all, was an instructor and administrator at Trident Technical College for over 30 years, as well as owner of Precision Automotive in North Charleston for 30 years. Pete was a devoted husband, father, and family man. Pete was an avid racer and car show enthusiast who started the "Spring Spinoff" in North Charleston. He was a founding member of the SDRA and of Lowcountry Mopars. Pete additionally served honorably in the US Air Force for four years. Mr. Pete's work ethics were unmatched and you could always find him in the shop or helping someone. Mr. Dambaugh was preceded in death by his wife, Lila Marie Dambaugh and sister, Susan Murtland. He is survived by three sons, Channing (Dona) Dambaugh of Florence, KY, Eric (Cindy) Dambaugh of Goose Creek, SC, Gabriel Dambaugh of Charlotte, NC; siblings: Peggy (Harry) Barkley, Mary Alice (Ted) Neumann, Timothy (Stacy) Dambaugh, James (Leslie) Dambaugh; his companion and partner for the last five years, Linda Proudfoot; as well as a large family tree filled with many loving cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pete's impact on the automotive industry in Charleston, SC through his teaching and mentoring at Trident Technical College will last for generations to come. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407 or Trident Technical College W.
