Mary Charleen Smith Steen WALTERBORO - Mary Charleen Steen, 67, of Walterboro, South Carolina died April 22, 2014 at 7:00 a.m., peacefully at home. Born March 20, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Nancy Elizabeth Watterson Good of Luray, Virginia, Charleen graduated from Chicora High School in 1965. She married the love of her life, Harold Ronald Steen, on Febuary 5, 1966, and they lived in Goose Creek, South Carolina for 30 years before relocating to their dream home in Walterboro, South Carolina for the past 17 years. Charleen is predeceased by her birth mother, Nancy Elizabeth Watterson Good of Luray, Virginia; her adoptive Parents, George Leroy Smith and Aleen Rhodes Smith of North Charleston, South Carolina; and her mother and father-in-law, Roland F. Steen, and Lucille Steen of North Charleston, South Carolina. Charleen is survived by her husband, Harold Ronald Steen; sister, Darlene Lawson of Luray, Virginia; and a brother, Micheal Good of Luray, Virginia; and by three children: Ronald Lee Steen and his wife Jennifer Steen of Bordentown, NJ, George Paul Steen, and his wife Cassandra Steen of Walterboro, SC, Charleen Patricia Hollingsworth, and her husband William Lee Hollingsworth of Cottageville, SC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kristina Nicole Sadler, George Paul Steen, Jr., Zachary Aaron Steen, Daniel Jacob Steen, Veronica Leigh Steen, Brittany Leanne Steen, Brittani Emily Hollingsworth, and Thomas Phillip Hollingsworth. The family will receive family and friends Thursday April 24, 2014 from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM. Funeral service for Mary will be at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
