James F. Young SIMPSONVILLE, SC - James F. Young, husband to Sandra S. Young for 46 years, entered the eternal voyage on his ship July 1, 2014. James, affectionately known as "Tiny" to his family, was born in Clinton, SC, and was the son of the late George I. Young and Lillie Whitmire Young of Lydia Mill. Retired Chief Petty Officer Young proudly served our country in the United States Navy for more than twenty years where he fought in the Cuban Missile Crisis and in Vietnam. He served and sailed upon the USS Hunt, the USS Manley, the USS Lee and the USS Josephus S. Daniels. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Elizabeth Young; son, S. Young; a granddaughter, Rebecca Young; and brothers, Curtis Young and David Young. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014, from 5:00-7:00PM, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast Chapel. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 10:00AM, at M J "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
