Irma Savage Obituary

Irma Sasser Savage WALTERBORO - Irma Sasser Savage, 87, of Walterboro, South Carolina, died on March 26, 2010, in Atlanta. She was the widow of Henry Elliott Savage, Jr. Mrs. Savage was born on October 17, 1922, in Sylvania, Georgia, to Charles Sasser and Florence Hillis Sasser Pierce. She graduated from business school and moved to Walterboro where she worked for Esdorn Hospital until her marriage to Mr. Savage in 1941. Mrs. Savage lived in Walterboro until 1989 when she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to be near her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Walterboro for over 40 years. Mrs. Savage is survived by her son and his wife, Henry Elliott Savage, III, and Shelley Savage of Indianapolis, Indiana, and her daughter and her husband, Gail Savage Glover and Marion Bellinger Glover, Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by two grandsons and their families: Henry Elliott Savage, IV, and his wife Lauren Savage of Dallas, Texas, and Robert Scott Savage of Atlanta, Georgia. The family wishes to thank Virginia McBird and Claudia Milford for their loving care of Mrs. Savage during her last years. A graveside service will be held at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro, South Carolina, on March 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Tina Sweet of Bethel Presbyterian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 403 Church Street, Walterboro, South Carolina, 29488. Gail and Henry,
I am so sorry you have lost your lovely mother. I very pleasantly remembered meeting her in Walterboro years ago and again in Atlanta and what a pretty lady she was. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
