David G. Cantwell CHARLESTON - David Gerard Cantwell, 51, of James Island SC, passed away on Sat. May 11, 2013, of natural causes. David was born in Charleston, SC, at Saint Francis Hospital on August 3, 1961, to the late James R. Cantwell, III and Patricia E. Cantwell. David was a graduate of Saint. Andrews High School. He worked as a chemical operator for Rhodia for 23 years. He enjoyed surfing and skateboarding in his earlier years. What David enjoyed most in life was the time spent with his three beautiful granddaughters. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. David is survived and will be missed by two children, Crystal L. Cantwell of Charleston, SC and David E. Cantwell and his wife Ellen Cantwell of Beaufort, SC; three granddaughters, Jay-lynn, Mackenzie, and Kendall Cantwell; one brother, James R. Cantwell IV (Kelly) of James Island and two sisters, Geralyn C. Boxx (Thomas) of James Island and Christine C. Rumsey (Kevin) of Gainesville, FL, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The relatives and friends of David Gerard Cantwell are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 6:30 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2013, from the chapel of the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC 29407. The family will receive friends on Thursday between the hours of 5:00 and 6:30, and immediately following the service. Deacon James Moore of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be private.
