Margaret Taylor Obituary

Margaret Lucille Taylor CHARLOTTE - Margaret Lucille Taylor, 97, born on March 18, 1917, in Asheboro, went to be with her Lord June 14, 2014. Best known as Lucille, Mom, Gramps and Great-Grandma spent her life loving her family and her Lord. Her best friend and husband, "Son" (James Carlton Taylor) preceded her in death 32 years ago and she made her home and life with her only son, Jim Taylor and his wife Jo Anne. She lived in Charlotte and Marietta, Ga. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Charlotte, and enjoyed her friends at First Methodist Church, Marietta. She spent her last eight years living at Atherton Place, Marietta, and enjoying her friends there. The family would like to express their appreciation to the loving and caring staff of Atherton who made her feel so special. One of the biggest joys in her life was her grandson, Jay Taylor and his wife, Amy. She took great pride in watching her four great-grandchildren Reid, Morgan, Chloe and Lawson grow, especially in the love of the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Lambert; sister, Esther Harris and is survived by her sister, Virginia Rosenblatt. She is also survived by her niece, Lynn Gatlin and her husband, Wendell; her nephew, Keith Lambert and his wife, Willie; her great-niece, Kristen Austin and her husband, Chris. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 4:00 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 3:00. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, June 19th at 2:00 at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. Memorial contributions may be made to SafePath Children's Advocacy, 736 Whitlock Ave., NW #600, Marietta, GA 30064 in memory of Lucille Taylor.
