Howard Wilson Deese STANLEY - Howard Wilson Deese, 85, of Stanley passed away December 13, 2014, at VA Hospital in Salisbury. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18th, at 2:00pm graveside at Forest lawn Cemetery, Charlotte, NC, with visitation at Forest lawn West Funeral Home one hour before the services. Howard was born May 30,1929 in Charlotte, NC to the late Boyd Wilson Deese and Lois Ellen Greene Deese. In addition to his parents, his wife, Earline Willie Couch Deese and his brother, Charles Edward Deese, preceded him in death. Surviving are his sons, Timothy Howard Deese and Boyd Wilson Deese, his grandson Brian Keith Deese of the home, his brother George Boyd Deese of Crouse, NC, and two nephews. Brett Michael Dumsha CHARLOTTE - Brett Michael Dumsha, 28, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Philadelphia, PA. Brett was born on August 4, 1986 in Winston-Salem, NC to Janice and Dennis Dumsha. After graduating from Weddington High School in 2004, Brett attended Western Carolina University and graduated in 2008. He was pursuing a promising career path in sales with Wurth Wood Group in Charlotte. Brett was passionate about music as a hobby and was an accomplished guitarist. Brett is survived by his parents, maternal grandmother, Katherine Doss, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Eileen and Stanley Dumsha of Philadelphia, James Doss of Winston-Salem, and an uncle, Randall Doss, of Johnson City, TN. The family will hold a private memorial and requests that any gifts honoring Brett's life be made to the charity of your choice.

Davis, Blondell - Peachland  
Blondell Williams Davis PEACHLAND Mrs. Blondell Williams Davis, 90, died Friday, December 12, 2014, at Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Deep Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Phillips and Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, December 15, 2014, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro, and other times at the home of her daughter on West Deep Springs Church Road. Blondell was born July 26, 1924, in Union County, a daughter of the late Cyrus and Lizzie Medlin Williams. She was a homemaker and private duty caregiver, having worked with more than 30 families; however, her most notable caregiving was for that of her own family members, especially her son, Warren for his entire life. She lived an example of giving of oneself and that of a true unconditional love of a mother. She was a long-time member of Deep Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting with the ladies at Polkton Depot. Surviving are her children, Lanny Davis and Sherry (Ronnie) Austin both of Peachland; her grandchildren, Mike (Kathy) Preslar of Norwood and Tyler Austin and Justin Austin both of Peachland; and her great-grandchildren, Michael Preslar, Lauren Preslar and Trinity Austin. Also surviving are her brothers and sister, Morris (Geraldine) Williams and Homer (Frances) Williams both of Marshville, Earl (Sybile) Williams of Polkton and Macie Dean (Billy) Warner of Wadesboro; and her nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Justis Brice Davis; daughter, Joann Preslar; son, Warren Davis; son-in-law, Eddie Preslar; brothers, Buren Williams and Hoyle Williams; and sister, Pauline Helms. Dulin, Walter - Charlotte  
Walter Lee Dulin CHARLOTTE - Walter Lee Dulin passed away on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014, at the age of 86. He was born on April 27, 1928, to the late Martin Odell and Shannon Abernethy Dulin in Charlotte, NC, and was baptized into God's Kingdom at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. He graduated from Oak-hurst High School and Oak Ridge Military Institute. He served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He later graduated from King's Business College with a degree in Business Administration and then joined R.S. Dickson & Co. where he began his career as a stock trader. From 1963 to 1970, he worked for Powell Kistler & Co., in Fayetteville, NC, and returned to Charlotte when the two companies merged. R.S. Dickson, Powell, Kistler, and Crawford eventually merged with EF Hutton. In 1987, he joined First Tryon Securities which later became NationsBanc Securities. He established the first over the counter (OTC) trading desk for Nations-Banc, now Bank of America, and retired in 1994. During his 43 years as an OTC Trader, he helped to organize the NC Security Traders Association and served in many leadership roles including President in 1981. He was not only a member of Christ Lutheran Church, but he along with his late wife Janice worked diligently to establish the church in 1954 as Charter Members. He was a man of deep and unwavering faith who loved his church and his church family. He served on the Church Council and as Chairman of the Finance Committee, Treasurer of the first Building Fund, Co-Chair and Treasurer of the Pipe Organ Fund for the second sanctuary. In recognition of his commitment to the church, he was named an Honorary Life Member of the NC Lutheran Men in 1997. In retirement, he volunteered regularly in the church office as well as at Crisis Assistance Ministry and as a Motorman with the Charlotte Trolley. He was predeceased in death by his beloved wife of 64 years Janice Seagle, by his sister Josephine Wike, and by his brothers Martin Odell Dulin Jr. and Adrian Dulin. He is survived by his daughter Linda Dulin Cagley and husband Mark, son Freddie Lee Dulin and wife Linda, granddaughters Catherine Cagley, Lauren Cagley and Kalli Dulin, sister Christine Morrison and husband Ed, sister-in-law Gertrude Allran and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved spending time with family, especially his granddaughters. He will be remembered as a man of great integrity and generosity and as a true gentleman who greeted everyone with a smile, a handshake and a kind word. The family wishes to thank all who helped to care for him especially Dr. Gulati and Lisa with Sanger's Heart Failure Team, Nanette with Hospice and many "Visiting Angels". The funeral will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at 2:30 pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, with graveside service immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, for the McClintock Partners In Education Outreach Program, 4519 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. J.B. Tallent Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Robert Edward Dziewisz "Bob" CHARLOTTE - Robert "Bob" Edward Dziewisz, age 57, of Charlotte passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at his residence. He is survived by his wife Gloria McGehee Dziewisz; parents Joseph and Florence Dziewisz; brothers Michael and his wife Terry Dziewisz, Leslie Dziewisz, Lawrence Dziewisz and John and his wife Diane Dziewisz; sister Susan and her husband James Bartlebaugh; nine nieces and nephews Joseph, Daniel, Jillian, Jonathon, Meghan, Kerri, Allison, Kevin and Julia. Memorial services celebrating Bob's life will be held Wednesday, December 17 at 11:00am in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
