Elizabeth F. Adams CAROLINA SHORES - Elizabeth F. Adams, 87, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Born on August 23, 1927 in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura Folker Foulon. Mrs. Adams is survived by her children, Eric David Adams and Cynthia Adams, both of Carolina Shores, NC. She is predeceased by her husband, Hunter D. Adams, Jr. Funeral services will be at 10 am on January 15, 2015, in Arlington National Cemetery. A guest book is available at www.leefhandcrematory.com . Badgett, Amanda - Charlotte  
Amanda Leigh Badgett CHARLOTTE - Amanda Leigh Badgett, 29, of Charlotte, NC died December 12, 2014. Born December 10, 1985 in Lum-berton, NC she was the daughter of Robin Rosen of Charlotte and the late Brent Badgett of Fairmont, NC. She is survived by two loving brothers, Aaron Badgett of Fairmont and Simon Rosen of Lumberton, and her sister Tracey Badgett of Lum-berton, as well as her uncle Michael Rosen of Tampa, FL and her grandparents Harold and Patricia Badgett of Fairmont. She is preceded in death by her brother Andy Badgett of Fairmont and her maternal grandparents Jack Rosen of Tallahassee, FL and Mary Lois Huggins of Fair-mont. Amanda leaves behind many, many friends and loved ones who she cherished so dearly. Amanda was a part-time student who loved the outdoors and spending time with her friends and family. Her cremation occurred at Tribute Cremation Society, Charlotte. Visitation and memorial service will take place at Floyd's Mortuary, Fair-mont, NC Saturday, December 20 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. A celebration service will be held in Charlotte for her local friends in the coming weeks. Bennett, James - Tega Cay  
James Frankin Bennett "Jim" TEGA CAY - James Frankin Bennett "Jim" of Tega Cay, SC passed away on December 17, 2014, at CMC Pineville, on the 37th wedding anniversary to his wife. He was born September 2, 1939, in Charlotte to the late, Jesse Edgar Bennet and Mildred Hamrick Bennett. He graduated from Central High School in 1957, attending NC State College, served in the Air Force, and was an instructor in aeronautics at UNCC. Upon joining Atlantic Richfield Oil Company he worked his way up through the ranks and became a Captain flying the company top management all over the globe. He flew six presidents and many movie stars. He lived in California a number of years and upon retirement chose to return to the south, moving to Tega Cay, SC. He was an active member of the Fort Mill Baptist Church. Jim was an avid golfer at Tega Cay and will be missed by his golfing buddies. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Bennett, and his sister Carole B. Kinzie of Fort Mill, SC, his children, son Scott Bennett (Stacey), Beth Israel (Richard), and son Christopher were the loves of his life. He has four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 2 pm at Fort Mill First Baptist Church; the family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time. Burial will follow Monday at 2pm December 22, 2014, at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers the family suggests any memorials or contributions be made to Shriners Crippled Children. Elizabeth Hunter Bowen CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Bowen, 91, a Charlotte native, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. Betty is survived by her sister Ann Shaver, her grandsons Paul Bowen and wife Angela, Phillip Bowen and wife Michelle, and great-grandson Daniel James Bowen. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at noon, at McEwen Pineville Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Brewer, Jane - Greensboro  
Jane Crowell Abernethy Brewer GREENSBORO - Jane Crowell Abernethy Brewer, 94, passed away on December 20, 2014. She was born in Lincolnton, NC on November 4, 1920 to Mary B. and Thomas Clay Abernethy, grew up in Lincolnton, then moved to Greensboro in 1935 where she graduated from Greensboro High School. She attended Brenau College (University) in Gainesville, Georgia and Women's College (UNC-G) in Greensboro. She married John King Brewer in 1944 and they enjoyed fifty-four wonderful years of marriage filled with love and respect, children's activities, Tar Heel football and basketball games, fishing trips to Core Banks, travels to Scotland, England and China, summers in Blowing Rock and golfing with good friends. John passed away in 1998 after he and Jane moved to Well Spring Retirement Community in Greensboro where Jane lived for the remainder of her life. She is survived by her children, Beverly Hillman (Ken), Morehead City, NC; John K. Brewer, Jr. (Ruthie), Greensboro, NC; Patricia Navarre (Paul), Fort Collins, CO; Thomas Abernethy Brewer (Beth), Greensboro, NC; her twin sisters, Martha Abernethy Stanley (Tom), Charlotte, NC; Corinne Abernethy Cole, Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, as well as three great-grandchildren with three more currently on the way and many, many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A memorial service and celebration of Jane's life will be held in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 617 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Memorial Contributions may be made to: First Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, NC, the Well Spring Retirement Community Benevolent Fund, Greensboro or a charity of the donor's choosing.

Susan Patricia Brooks "Nicki" CHARLOTTE - Susan Patricia Brooks, "Nicki", of Charlotte, passed away on December 21, 2014. Whether she was raising children, managing a health spa, a company or a library office, Nicki always did an outstanding job. Always giving of herself, she was active in her church, sang in the choir and spent her lunch hours delivering food to shut-ins. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many people all over the world, always going out of her way to keep everyone happy. Nicki was an angel walking on earth and now she has received her wings. We will sorely miss her. She is survived by her husband Jack Brooks; sister-in-law June Attenhofer; mother, Eileen Palmer; daughter Leah-Marie and husband Greg Luther of Charlotte; son Darren and wife Maggie of Tega Cay; grandchildren, Colt, Casey Lynn; and numerous relatives in England and Australia. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill.
