Kirk Lusch

Kirk Frederic Lusch MOORESVILLE - Kirk Frederic Lusch, 44, of Mooresville, NC died October 3, 2013, at CMC Pineville. He was born on July 26, 1969 in Corydon, Iowa to Donald Lusch and the late Vivian Lusch. He worked as a partner with the C.P.A. firm Dixon, Hughes and Goodman. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Donald and Lin Lusch of Estero, FL; sons, Adam, Kyle and Brandon, of Mooresville; and sister Shelley Gabel (Jim), nephews Jacob and Mitchell and niece Leigh of New Albany, OH. He is also survived by his grandmother Virginia Watson of Dover, OH. Kirk is a graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. He was also a Certified Public Accountant. He began his career with Earnst and Young in Detroit, MI before transferring to their Charlotte, NC office. In 1993 he joined the firm of Crisp, Hughes, Evans which evolved into Dixon, Hughes, and Goodman where he became a partner. At the time of his death, he was the partner in charge of Tax Advisory services for the entire firm. He was a dedicated and involved father with his sons and their many activities, including coaching sports teams and assisting with their Scouting activities. They also enjoyed road trips, long hikes, and many lake activities. Kirk was an active participant in sporting activities. He was also an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He has one of the largest known Wheaties Box collections highlighting sports figures in the United States. Many of his final hours were spent listening to KISS. He enjoyed attending many rock concerts with numerous friends throughout the years. Memorials may be made for Bladder Cancer Research to the Levine Cancer Institute, 1021 Morehead Medical Drive, Charlotte, NC 28204 or Davidson United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 718, Davidson, NC 28036. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 6 from 3-5 PM at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville, NC. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 7 at Davidson United Methodist Church with Dr. Jody Seymour officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Quaker City, OH.
