Marianne Geiger Obituary
Marianne was born on September 20, 1959 in Charlotte, North Carolina and was a rare native Charlottean. Her family moved to Columbia, SC during her early childhood and she graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1977. While immersing herself immediately into the workforce, Marianne also enjoyed singing in various bands and singing on several international USO Tours. Marianne met and married Tim Geiger, who also shared her love of music, in 1983.
Marianne has been a part of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church since 1995 where she and Tim were heavily involved in the music ministry and the development of the praise and worship band. Marianne enjoyed using her God-given talent to help lead others in worship and bring glory to Jesus. Marianne's love of singing was passed down to both of her daughters who are also a part of the worship ministry and sing on a regular basis.
Marianne worked for Sharonview Federal Credit Union for 15 of years starting as a part-time teller and eventually becoming a Business Relationship Manager. She loved meeting new people and assisting them with their financial plans and goals as well as traveling to new places.
Marianne is survived by her daughters April Portrais (Mark) and Ashton Baker (Dustin), her parents, her siblings and many other friends and family that loved her dearly.

Farewell to a PRECIOUS friend who has crossed over to other side. I will forever cherish our special friendship--the times we laughed and cried together over life's challenges, and the prayers we prayed together as we encouraged each other along life's way. We shared so many wonderful things in common--a musical family, a heart for the Lord and ministry, and a desire to be all we could be to our families and for God's glory. Well done, soldier! You fought a good fight and now you have obtained the highest prize. We'll meet you there one day!

We are so sorry for your loss and our thoughts & prayers are with all of the family. Marianne was such a sweet and Godly woman who stood strong in her faith. Her testimony never swayed in her walk with the Lord. Heaven has gained another angel & now she will be singing out her praises in heaven. It has been a pleasure for my husband & I to have known Marianne & her family for the last 15 years. We will never forget her sweet smile and uplifting spirit. If there was ever a person who loved the Lord, it was her. When she spoke of Ashton & April, you could see the glow around her, she was proud of her girls. Marianne will truly be missed but we know that she is now in the arms of Jesus.

Loved being around Marianne because she just exuded the love of Jesus. She and Tim were in the Ark class and that is where I first met them over 14 years ago. God puts special people in your life who inspire you to be better and she definitely was an inspiration.

Marianne and I met 11 years ago and she always had a sweet smile and a caring heart to share. I remember after my son was born 8 years ago and I had clots and he had heart surgery, she bought him some toys for Christmas. I will always remember that. Thank you Marianne for being a light in a dark world. Now you are the true angel you always were. I love you we will miss you so much. I'm sorry you had any pain in life at all because certainly you didn't deserve it.

Marianne, I met you about 13-14 years ago. Though I didn't have the privilege of working with you on a daily basis, every time we had the chance to see each other, it was like it was just yesterday. We had many talks about faith, family, happy times, difficult times, work, closing old chapters, starting new ones and so much more.
Thank you Marianne. Thank you for being such a Beautiful friend. Thank you for being a faith-filled servant of God and for teaching me with your actions and not just your words. I love you my Sweet Friend. You are greatly missed but I know that you are now smiling big with God in heaven.
