Boyd Z. Eubanks MATTHEWS - Mr. Boyd Zebulon Eubanks passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Plantation Estates in Matthews, N.C. A memorial service will be held at Noon, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Monroe, N.C., with the Rev. Janet Tyson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Boyd was born on July 27, 1930 in Union County, N.C. He graduated from Prospect High School in Union County, N.C.; and The School of Banking at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. His distinguished career of 40 plus years was with the Federal Reserve Bank and his retirement career was as a master woodworker. He was an Elder Emeritus of First Presbyterian Church in Monroe, N.C. and a lifetime honorary member of the Presbyterian Women of the Church. Boyd is survived by his wife, Evelyn Springs Eubanks; two daughters, Diane Drum of Tampa, Fla. and Pamela Walters of Buffalo, N.Y.; his sister, Ruth Hunter of Matthews, N.C.; and grandson, Jason Walters of Buffalo, N.Y. He is also survived by three nephews, Ted Eubanks and Lynn Eubanks of Monroe, N.C. and Ronald Outen of Rockport, Texas; three nieces, Gail Dixon of Lawndale, N.C., Robin Carnes of Cheraw, S.C. and Karen Demby of Matthews, N.C. Boyd was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Eubanks of Monroe, N.C.; three sisters, Ocelea Price and Faire Outen, both of Monroe and Mildred Carnes of Pageland, S.C.; and two nephews Lane Eubanks and Kent Eubanks, both of Union County N.C.
