David Bruton MOUNT GILEAD - David Wilson Bruton, 81, of Mt. Gilead, died Saturday morning, May 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead, Rev. Jim Harris will officiate and burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday evening at Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead. Mr. Bruton was born June 7, 1931, in Montgomery County. He was a son of the late Clay Livingston and Ella Harris Bruton. He was retired owner and operator of Bruton, Inc, where he was known for his honesty and integrity and enabled many people to become first time home owners. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War period, a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he had been active in the Methodist Men. He had previously been active in the Civitans and the Mt. Gilead Foundation. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he and his wife enjoyed spending time with friends playing Bridge. He is survived by his wife, Betty Starling Bruton; his sons, Tommy Bruton and wife Mandy and Danny Bruton and wife Gail all of Mt. Gilead; one sister, Maryella Cameron of Apex; four grandchildren, Daniel, Chase and Thomas Bruton and Kendall Greene; and two great-grandchildren, Bella and Kai Bruton.
