Freddie Tilton Houston MOORESVILLE - Freddie Tilton Houston, 65, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at his residence. He was born on March 13, 1948 in Mooresville, to the late Leonard and Erma Howard Houston. Mr. Houston was a US Army veteran serving in The Old Guard in Arlington, VA, where he had the honor of serving in the Honor Guard for the funeral of Audie Murphy. He then served in Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and then served in Hawaii, Korea and Germany. Following his military service he began his career as an electrician. In 2000, he along with his wife and son founded, Houston & Associates of Lake Norman, Inc., serving as CEO. Mr. Houston was a life member of the American Legion Post #66, member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Griffith Houston; son, F. Shane Houston and his wife, Andria; daughter, Gina Houston both of Mooresville; sister, Sandra Wingo and husband, Butch; brother, Danny Houston; and granddaughters, Kylie and Kara. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 13 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Paul Childers and Rev. J.C. West officiating. Burial will follow the service with full military honors at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
