John Joseph


John Ingram Joseph, Sr. CONCORD - Mr. John Ingram Joseph, Sr., 84, of 655 Central Drive NW died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Tucker Hospice House. Mr. Joseph was born on November 30, 1929 in York, SC to the late Sam Joseph and Martha McConnell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Flowree Robinson Joseph. Mr. Joseph was educated at Logan High School and Carver College. He was a faithful member of Liberty Primitive Baptist Church. He was a trustee and a member of the men's choir. Mr. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was formally active in the NAACP for many years; also working with others in the community to promote integration in the NC School System. His hobbies were fishing, fishing and more fishing. He leaves to cherish his memories of life three sons: John I. Joseph (Suzanne) of Charlotte, NC, Reverend Daniel Joseph (Janice) of Concord, Samuel Joseph of Chester, VA; two daughters: Frances Caldwell (Ernest) of Simpsonville, SC, Martha Johnson (Timothy) of Concord, NC, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church located at 656 Central Drive in Concord. The visitation will be held from 12:30-1:00 followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The eulogist will be Reverend Harry Love. The burial will follow at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at other times at the home of Rev. Daniel Joseph located at 801 Hannover Drive in Concord. Lamb Funeral Home, Inc. will be serving the family.
