Joseph Curtis Grey, Junior CHARLOTTE - Joseph Curtis Grey, Junior, 87, died on May 6, 2013. Joe was born April 21, 1926 in Norfolk, VA. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1944 and the served in the US Navy in the Pacific for the remainder of WWII. He graduated from VPI (Virginia Tech) in 1950. Joe worked for Duke Power in Great Falls, SC and Charlotte, NC. He joined The Hawkins Company and later cofounded Fluid Engineering Sales which he retired from in 1996. Having been born by the ocean, salt water was ever present in his veins. Joe spent the best part of his retirement onboard Sea Gal with his wife Irene D. Grey and many family and friends, cruising the coastal waters from New York to the Caribbean. He is survived by his wife Irene D. Grey of 23 years, Michael Grey (Gayle) & Charles Grey (Kathy) of Norfolk, VA, Pam Delozier (Dennis) of South Port, NC, Jody Fincher (John) of Charlotte, NC, brother Donald Grey (Lynn), sister Peggy Sullivan, Norfolk, VA, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and Sullivan and Kelly nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Curtis Grey, Sr. and Margaret D. Grey, his wife of 42 years Mary C. Grey, Sister Mary Frances Kelly, and granddaughter Megan Grey. The family wishes to thank the devoted caregivers of Carrington Place for the many years of watching over Joe. A mass of Christian Burial will be at 1pm, May 9, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Charlotte, NC 28277. A Private burial will be held on Friday at St Matthews Catholic Church Columbarium. Memorials may be made to at Holy Angels Nursery @ holyangelsnc.org or St. Matthews Catholic Church.
