Mark Dean Miller GASTONIA - Mark Dean Miller, 49, of 141 Robindale Road, Gastonia, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. He was the son of Sarah "Millie" Taylor Miller of Mount Holly and the late Benjamin "Benny" Franklin Miller. He was a Firefighter with the Mount Holly Fire Department, a US Naval Reserve Veteran, was formerly with the East Gaston Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the former Mount Holly Life Saving Crew. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, a member of the CBA, and participated in numerous motorcycle charity rides. In addition to his mother, he is survived by an uncle Charles Miller and wife Patti of Stanley and an aunt Iris Lewis of Charlotte. A number of cousins including Alex Taylor of Charlotte and J.C. Lewis of Charlotte. Special pets Sugar, Maltese, and Brutus. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Miller will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Angela Pleasants and Rev. Mitch Murrow officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly is serving the family.
