Robert Cecil Taylor CHARLOTTE - Mr. Taylor, 82, of Charlotte, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Robert was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Cherokee County, S.C., a son of the late Lewis A. and Vennie McDaniel Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had worked for Lockheed Aircraft, Addressograph Multigraph Company and FDR Field Service Company. He was a member of American Legion Post 353 and a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. Mr. Taylor was also a member of the John Willis Sunday school class. Robert enjoyed flea markets, traveling, visiting with friends and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his brothers, Newton, Carroll and Max Taylor; sisters, Blanche T. Daves and Vera T. Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Barbara B. Taylor; son, Greg C. Taylor and wife, Beverly; daughter, Cecilia Christianson and husband, Chris; sisters, Katherine Barnett and husband, Dean and Becky Scruggs and husband, Julian; grandchildren, Candace T. Ferguson and husband, Josh, Tracy Taylor and Jessica and Christopher Christianson. Funeral service for Mr. Taylor will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. Memorials may be made to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1117 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
