Sue Heinrich Schwartz CHARLOTTE - Sue Heinrich Schwartz died on December 13, 2013. She was born March 10, 1942, and was raised in Washington, DC and Orange Park, FL, where she graduated from her parents' school, St. Johns Country Day School in 1959. After graduating from Agnes Scott College in 1963, she moved to Charlotte, NC. She taught mathematics at Charlotte Country Day School for 25 years, receiving her Masters from University of Georgia in 1988. After retiring from teaching, Sue enjoyed an encore career with Crisis Assistance Ministry for 17 years. She has been an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church for more than 50 years where she served as a Stephen Minister, among other volunteer positions. She belonged to Easy Readers Book Club and Great Eight Bridge Club. She swam regularly at the YWCA. Sue enjoyed traveling to many different places in the world and she spent a lot of time at her mountain house at Wolf Laurel near Mars Hill, NC. For many years, Sue and Bill looked forward to welcoming their grandchildren to share Camp Schwartz in the mountains. Sue was predeceased by her husband, Larry Bingaman, in 1992, and is survived by her husband, William Schwartz; two children, Reneau Van Landingham and Lyn Winter; six step-children; and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on December 22, 2013, at 1:30pm. Inurnment will follow the service in the St. Mark's Columbarium. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for Social Ministry or for the Music Endowment Fund.
