Dianna Stavrakas Jackson "Dolly" CHARLOTTE - Dolly Stavrakas Jackson, of Charlotte, was received back to her Father in Heaven Friday evening, November 8, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center, surrounded by her loving and supportive family and friends. She was 57 years old. Dolly was a graduate of Independence High School, and an esteemed employee of National Gypsum for 20 years. An accident in 2009 left her physically disabled. In spite of her limitations, Dolly remained the loveliest and most gentle of people. She was a blessing that touched the lives of so many who knew and loved her. Dolly was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved watching football, trips to the beach, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. Dolly was the seventh of nine children born to Bob and Ann Stavrakas, who preceded her in death, along with her brothers, Bill and David. She is survived by her daughter, Carmen (Lou) Andre; grandson, Leo Andre; brothers, Nick Stavrakas, Bubba (Pam) Stavrakas, and John (Gina) Stavrakas; sisters, Nancy (Rodney) Keetch, Lynn (Bill) Bumgardner, and Nona Stavrakas; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to celebrate her life to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family offers a special thank you to Dr. Lofton and staff at Carolinas Rehab who gave her support and encouragement after her accident. The family is also grateful to the staff of the Medical ICU at Carolinas Medical Center, including Dr. Singh, Dr. Sugg and Dr. Haley, as well as the staff at Mecklenburg Health Care and Sardis Oaks for their guidance and compassionate care of Dolly. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dolly's honor to The Darrell Gwynn Foundation, 4850 SW 52nd Street, Davie, FL 33314, online at darrellgwynnfoundation.org.
