James Robert Bell "Jim" CONCORD - Mr. James "Jim" Robert Bell, 89, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at St. James Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Tom Ridenhour. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Jim was born on Oct. 20, 1924, to the late Harvey and Eva Horner Bell. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Law and Geraldine Bell. He was in industrial supply sales for most of his life, working for Charlotte Supply Co. for 24 years and Industrial Textile Supply Co. for 22 years. Jim was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving from 1943-1946. He is survived by his wife, Betty Battle Bell; daughter, Karen B. Adams and husband, Ron, of Carrollton, Ga.; son, James Michael Bell and wife, Barbara, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Brett Adams and wife, Tamy, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Blake Adams and wife, Bonnie, of Carrollton, Ga.; Elizabeth Ligon and husband, Parks, of Wendell; Allison Peterson and husband, Erik, of Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Casey, Grace and Sadie Adams of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jon and Xander Adams of Carrollton, Ga. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078 or to St. James Lutheran Church, 104 Union St. S., Concord, NC 28025.
