June Medlin Baucom MINT HILL - June Medlin Baucom, 82, of Mint Hill, went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital. June was born June 5, 1931 in Union County, NC to the late William R. and Hessie Clark Medlin. She was a devoted wife and mother who tirelessly served her family and community. June filled countless PTA, board of elections and census positions. Genealogy was her passion. She was the founder of Clear Creek Militia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the Mint Hill Historical Society and a former Docent of the Hezekiah Alexander House. June was predeceased by her parents, grandson, Will Baucom, sisters, Pearl, Ruth, Betty and Dot and brothers, Bruce and Leo. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William Kenneth Baucom, sons, Tad (Pam) Baucom and Eddie (JoAnne) Baucom, grandchildren, Brooke, Taylor and Shelby Baucom, Sherrill Anne (James) Butler, Sam (Catherine) Baucom and Wes Baucom, and sisters, Sandy McCall and Nell Harrington. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 3619 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
