Larry Olin King, Sr. INDIAN TRAIL - Larry Olin King, Sr., 63, Indian Trail, passed into the arms of his lord and savior on Friday evening July 12, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 10, 1950 in Union County, North Carolina, Larry was the son of the late Mildred Lee Earp and Zebulon DeWitt King. Visitation for Mr. King will be Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home - Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews. Funeral services in celebration of Larry's life will be Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene with burial immediately following at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Larry had a tremendous zest for life, where his family came first. In addition to spending time with his family, he loved NASCAR and dirt track racing, going on vacations with his family and gardening, where he enjoyed the fruits of his labor by eating the tomatoes he grew on biscuits. Church was important and played an important part in Larry's life. His family will remember him most though, for the passionate way he provided for them always putting others first. Larry retired from the postal service after several years of service. Mr. King is survived by his wife Shirley Thomas King, three sons: Tracey (Allison) King; Darrin (Katie) King; Jason (Sherri) King;. one daughter Debbie King; five granddaughters; 12 grandsons; one great-granddaughter; three brothers and two sisters. In addition to being predeceased by his parents, Larry was predeceased by his daughter Jessica King.
