Lee Broadway Obituary

Lee Harbin Broadway CHARLOTTE - Lee Harbin Broadway, 41, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 3, 2017, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born April 8, 1975, in Landtuhl, Germany, the daughter of Diane Adair Dowdy and Air Force SGT Robert Woodrow Harbin. Lee spent her childhood years in Xenia, Ohio before relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she resided with her husband and children for the remainder of her life. Lee attended West Charlotte High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Soon after, Lee and her high school sweetheart, Eric, decided to start their family. On December 19, 1998, Lee and Eric Broadway were united in marriage. Throughout her life, Lee excelled at every job she held, but she always prided herself as being an amazing mother and wife first and foremost. She is survived by her husband Eric L. Broadway of Charlotte; five children, Brittany Fulwiley, Adair Broadway, Averi Broadway, Alex Olivia Broadway, Adrien Broadway; her mother, Diane Dowdy of Xenia; and her stepfather, Carlton Webb Dowdy. Lee also leaves behind her aunts and uncles, along with her cousins, who were more like her siblings. Lee was a devoted mother and wife who loved spending time with her family, friends, and dog (Anderson Pooper). She will be remembered as someone who loved life and all it had to offer. She made the world a better place simply because she was there and everybody's life that touched Lee's became significantly brighter. Lee's legacy lives on through her family, friends, and the individuals who she was able to save through her death through the gift of organ donation. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Harbin. Services in celebration of Lee's life will be held Tuesday, April, 11, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at Resurrection Church on Commonwealth Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a Memorial Fund for Lee set up through a GoFundMe At the following web address: http://www.gofundme.com/3lkk4yo.

Not sure what to say?

April 29, 2017

My heartfelt condolences goes out to the Broadway family, when I read your story online I was deeply moved by it. I'm not the best with words, but I hope that you can draw comfort and strength from the ones that love your family the most, and even though you may be experiencing the lament mentioned at Psalms 6:6,9 may your family draw comfort from the one who is the hearer of prayer for he is ready and willing to dry your eyes and sooth your family ailing hearts.

Don't cry for me,
I will be okay.
Heaven is my home now,
and this is where I'll stay.
Don't cry for me,
I'm where I belong.
I want you to be happy
and try to stay strong.
Don't cry for me,
It was just my time.
But I will see you someday
on the other side.
Don't cry for me,
I am not alone.
The angels are with me
to welcome me home.
Don't cry for me,
for I have no fear.
All my pain is gone,
and Jesus took my tears.
Don't cry for me,
this is not the end.
I'll be waiting here for you,
when we meet again.

We will miss you

Lee's beautiful light lives on in her sweet children. Her natural warmth and generous spirit were gifts freely shared with all. One of my fondest memories is of Lee organizing an impromptu cookout on her driveway one cold and windy Halloween night, grilling hot dogs and inviting all the neighborhood trick-or- treaters and their parents to stop for a bite and share, their laughter echoing up and down the street... and Adair showing up at my elderly mom's door at Christmas with homemade treats -- such thoughtful kindnesses came naturally to Lee. She was a gift, for a time, and will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

My sincere condolences to the Broadway family in the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in knowing that those of our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. Psalm 116:15
