Louise P. Ferguson LEXINGTON - Louise Price Ferguson peacefully passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, NC. Mrs. Ferguson was born in Lexington, NC on September 12, 1927 to Vernon G. Price, Sr. and Viola H. Price. After graduating from Lexington High School, she attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and then worked in the War Office in High Point during World War II. She returned home to work for the City of Lexington where she met her future husband, Herbert K. Ferguson. They were married on February 28, 1948, and had one daughter, Melinda. After spending several years as a homemaker, Mrs. Ferguson found employment with Davidson Electric Membership Corporation, where she worked until her retirement. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church. As a grandmother, "Mamoo" dedicated herself to her two beloved grandsons, Dunn and Scott. As a daughter and sister, she was a loving caregiver to her mother and to her younger brother. In her last years, the great joy of her life was her two great-grandsons, Wells and Cooper. Mrs. Ferguson often reminisced about her happy childhood, the antics of her two brothers, and the joys of growing up in Lexington. She remained devoted to all her childhood friends and high school classmates. She loved children, music, books and animals. As a youth, Ms. Ferguson was well known for her singing and entertained at many civic functions. Upon moving to Piedmont Crossing, she embraced her new friends and became well known for her humor and cheerful disposition. Her parents, her husband, and her two brothers, V.G. Price, Jr. and Charles H. Price, predeceased Mrs. Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, and son-in-law, Melinda and Bill Mileham, her grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, Dunn and Katie Mileham and their sons, Wells and Cooper, and by her grandson Scott Mileham, all of Charlotte. A sister-in-law, nieces and their families also survive her. The family thanks the entire staff of Piedmont Crossing for the loving care given Mrs. Ferguson in her four years as a residence and Hospice of Davidson County for the compassionate care during the last six months. Burial will be private and a memorial service will be Thursday at 2:00 PM in Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kelley Groce. The family will receive visitors after the service.
