Marshal Ross Burns MOORESVILLE - Marshal Ross Burns, 32, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 18, 1981 in Rome, Georgia to Kermit (Rusty) Milton and Constance (Connie) Alley Burns. Marshal led a very active life. He began working at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center at age 17 in dietary services. He was recruited to train as a monitor technician and work in the ICU. When his health prevented him from working in the ICU, he volunteered at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen and continued to volunteer at the LKN hospital. He applied and was selected to serve on the Mayor's Council for Individuals with Disabilities for the Town of Mooresville. He was an active member at The Cove Church where he served as "greeter", on the prayer team, and participant of a Life Group. Marshal was a very loving son and brother and a friend to all that knew him. In addition to his parents he is survived by brothers, Michael Ryan Burns and wife, Allison of Alpharetta, GA; Matthew Reid Burns and wife, Jenifer of Wilmington, NC; sister, Melinda Rene Burns Klinger and husband, Ben of Longwood, FL; nephews, Haden and Landan Klinger, Mason Burns and a niece, Lenora Burns. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, October 28 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Services will be on Tuesday, October 29 at 2:00 pm at The Cove Church with Rev. Louis Smith and Rev. Larry Leatherwood officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mooresville Soup Kitchen, P. O. Box 5173, Mooresville, NC 28117 or Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Burns family.
