Ruby Lorraine Cox
Mrs. Cox, 77, of Matthews, died Thursday August 21, 2003 at White Oak Manor. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday August 25, 2003 at Newell Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8:30 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Road.
Mrs. Cox was born on November 28, 1925 in Newell, NC to the late Charles B. and Nina Mae Cross, Sr. She was a graduate of Bain High School and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Louise Wilson and Johnnie Benson.
Her survivors include, her husband of over 47 years, Albert Cox, Jr. of Matthews, sons, Joseph Paul Cox and wife Deborah Sue of Charlotte, Charles A. Cox III and wife Debra of Concord, daughters, Karen Lorraine Thomas of Charlotte, Maria Dawn Cunningham and husband David of Indian Trail, brother, Charles B. Cross, Jr. of Titusville, FL, sister, Eloise Romaine Jones, of Charlotte, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., Southern Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Matthews Indian Trail.
