Ted Wilton Hathcock MATTHEWS - Ted Wilton Hathcock (Boppy), 81, left his home here to have peace and comfort with his Heavenly Father on Jan. 24, 2014. Ted was born in Locust to Ralph and Elsie Hathcock. He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers Harvey, Boyd, Bland, and Clyde; sister, Helen Eudy; and daughter-in-law, Pam Hathcock. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sister, Carolyn Furr and husband, Earl; and children, Nelson and Ricky and longtime friend Gale Mungo, Kristi and fianc Sidney Collins, Jeff Childs and partner Stephen Puskas, Chris Childress and wife Stephanie, and Shawn McStravick and husband Stephen. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sat., Feb. 1, from 10:30-12 Noon at Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill. Memorial Service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Arlington Baptist Church Youth Missions, 9801 Arlington Church Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227, or Hospice Charlotte Region, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204.
