I only met Mrs. Cooper one time when she accompanied her daughter to my house. While Samantha worked with my dogs, Mrs. Cooper and I had tea and cookies! She was delightful to visit with and I regret I didn't know her better.

I got to know Edna through her daughter Samantha while we were working together at the Humane Society. She was a very kind and caring person and treated my daughter Brooke as if she were her own grandchild whenever we were around her. She was also an animal lover and had such patience with "Lady" one of Samantha's many rescues who lived in the house with them. We will miss her smile.

I did not know Edna, but through the stories from her wonderful daughter, an affection and admiration for her grew over the years. Edna, rest in the peace that you so earned throughout your life. Samantha, thank you for including me, and letting Edna inspire me, even from a distance, take care of yourself.
All my love, always,
Lisa J.

Edna was a regular participant at the Dorathy Thigpen Elliot Prayer/Bible Study Group which I led for 17 years, at Myers Park UMC. I always found her to be a wonderful and kind person. She will be missed by many.

Miss Edna was an inspiration to my entire family. Her keen wit and loving kindness touched my young children. We are better for having known her.
