E.O. Whitworth "Bud" CHARLOTTE - Mr. Whitworth, 66, of Charlotte, ended his earthly journey peacefully, surrounded by his family on Feb. 17, 2014. Bud was born in Columbus, Ga. on Sept. 14, 1947, to the late, E.O. (Whit) Whitworth and Josephine Kamper Whitworth. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Kamper. Left to cherish his memory is Ann Lee Whitworth, his best friend and wife of 29 years; children, Michelle Price and her husband, Jeff, E.O. (Trae) Whitworth, III and his fianc , Leigh Ann Morris, Lee Snead and his wife, Alison and David Snead and his wife, Laith; Bud was blessed with nine grandchildren whom he delighted in seeing them grow and flourish. Bud worked for many years in plumbing and related industries. For the past seven years, he was a school bus driver for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. He took great pride in making sure his students arrived safely to and from school. He also loved NFL football and golf. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will be private with a celebration of his life held in early summer.
