CHARLOTTE - Loving and much-beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Jack was born in Salisbury, a son of Lebanese and Greek Cypriot immigrants, Marie Honey Caneclides and Jack Caneclides Jr. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1954. Jack was a man of amazing faith in his Savior Jesus Christ. He was a Mason and Shriner, and long-time owner of Cyprus Restaurant Supply Co. of Charlotte from 1948 until 2013. Strong and tough, yet gentle and kind, Jack was a man of unsurpassed generosity. He will be greatly missed by numerous family members and many special friends whose lives were truly enriched by this wonderful man.
Jack was preceded in death by wife, Betty Karras Caneclides; son, Dean Caneclides; and grandson, Jack Buckingham.
He is survived by his wife, Lafata Lyerly Caneclides; sister, Rose Marie Wachs; daughters, Jackie Burpeau and Alysia Buckingham; step-son, Steve Lusk; step-daughter, Sheila Jones; niece, Angela Wachs Puckett; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Boulevard. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 - 1:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington.
