Garrison Davis "Gary" CHARLOTTE - Garrison "Gary" Davis, age 90 passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family and dogs - Tony and Bella, and attended to by Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte. Born in 1923 in Poland, Gary immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1933. Gary and and his brother Louis founded G & L Davis Meat Company in Syracuse, N.Y. and were the makers of Gianelli Sausage. After his retirement, Gary resided in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. before moving to Charlotte. He was active in many sports, enjoyed playing bridge, loved music and the arts, and was an active member of many community organizations. Gary was a former member of Lafayette Country Club, Drumlins Country Club, Ballenisles Country Club and a member of Raintree Country Club in Charlotte. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Hilda, his brother Louis, and his first wife Betty. He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene (Wiesner) Davis, their children, Eric (Hannah), Robin (Barry), Alan (Heather), Scott and Melissa (Richard); grandchildren Briana, Lauren, Brett, Jeffrey, Nicole, Sarah, Benjamin and Hayden as well as three great-grandchildren, Celia, Annaliese and Luca. Celebration of his life will be on Friday, March 7th, 12 p.m. at Temple Israel, 4901 Providence Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Temple Israel or Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte. Funeral arrangements are being handled by J.B. Tallent.
