Frances Williams Sheppard BOSTIC - Frances Williams Sheppard, age 89 of Bostic, North Carolina died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Autumn Care Center in Forest City. She was born Nov. 7, 1924, in Appling Georgia and was a daughter of the late B. D. Williams and Isabella Arrowood Williams. Frances was a homemaker and the wife of the late Reverend T. A. Sheppard. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Forest City where she was a former member of the choir, a graduate of Gardner-Webb College and received a degree in History from Carson-Newman College. Frances was the consummate Pastor's wife, supporting her husband as he ministered churches in Granite Falls, Lancaster, S.C., Indian Trail and Hodges, S.C. She was truly a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid bird watcher. Survivors include two sons, John Sheppard and wife Sonya of Ware Shoals, S.C., Brent Sheppard and wife Helen of Morganton; a brother, Paul Williams and wife Wanda of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Lauren Abercrombie, Mary Sheppard, Martha Sheppard, and Anna Sheppard; and two great-grandchildren, Layla Gorman and Vera Abercrombie. The funeral will be held at two o'clock Friday, March 21, 2014, in the First Baptist Church of Forest City with Reverend J. Anthony Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from one until two o'clock prior to the service in the Family Fellowship Hall.
