Thomas Leo McVerry, Jr. CHARLOTTE - Thomas Leo McVerry Jr., 75, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2014. He was son to the late Thomas L. McVerry, Sr. and Anna Fritch of Pittsburgh, Pa. Thomas was a graduate and undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh. He served as a CPA and a CFP, and later retired as a VP of Finance with Rexham Corporation. Throughout life, he enjoyed tennis, traveling, and being a volunteer for many non-profit organizations. He is survived by three brothers; loving wife Jean of 53 years; children Thomas L. McVerry, III (Gail), Michael S. McVerry, Amy (Luis) Martinez; grandchildren Miranda (Doug), Christopher, Mason, Jenna, Jacqueline, Victor. Service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4519 Providence Road, Charlotte beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the building fund of All Saints Anglican Church, 1312 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Matthews, NC 28105, or Christian Adoption Services, 624-100 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Matthews, NC 28105.
