Flora Maxine Helms Raymer June 26, 2014 CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Flora Maxine Helms Raymer, 81, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Maxine (Mackie) was born on May 2, 1933 in Union County, NC to the late Cyrus Edward Helms and Janie May Stilwell. Mackie graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1952. Her senior quote was "The world looks brighter from behind a smile". She was a beautiful person with an infectious smile who loved to laugh and help others. Folks always knew when she was around. She also enjoyed many years associated with the Winterfield Booster Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Rowell A. Raymer; sisters Geraldine and Gale, and her brother Dale. She is survived by her daughter Robin Raymer and her husband Rusty Rogers; sons Rowell A. Raymer, III and his wife Kathy; Roger Raymer and his fianc e Patti Curry; two grandsons Alex and Zachary Raymer; two sisters Carolyn Pell and Cornelia Hahn, and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Midwood Baptist Church. A reception to greet friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, or to Midwood Baptist Church. J.B. Tallent Funeral Service is assisting the family.
