Gregory Boyd Fletcher KANNAPOLIS - Kannapolis' Greg Fletcher, a well-known women's volleyball official for high school and college games, has died at age 61. He died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, from injuries sustained in an accident while visiting in Orlando, Florida. Greg earned a PABO which is a national collegiate referee certification. He also had a USA regional certification as well as being an active member of the Triad Volleyball Athletics Association. He refereed college volleyball for the following conferences over the years: the ACC, the National Colle-giate Athletics Association (NCAA), Southern, Big South, Peach Bell, Conference Carolinas, and South Athletics. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 416 E. First Street, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 P.M. Survivors include his two sisters, Cynthia F. Petrea of Kannapolis, NC and Pamela F. Kerr of Charlotte, NC; and nieces and nephews.
