Throughout her life she remained strong and grateful to all who offered loving attention and support. Her smile and beautiful blue eyes would brighten everyone around her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Blair H. Cathey, and her parents Robert and Mamie Reid, and three brothers, Wilson Reid, Herbert Reid and Donald Mac Reid. She is survived by her four children, Joe Cathey and wife Dawn, Grady Cathey and wife Karen, Sharon Houston and Marsha Cathey. Mrs. Cathey grew up in Berryhill and became a longtime member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church, where she served as President of Women of the Church, deacon and loved teaching four-year-olds in Sunday School for many years. She received the Honorary Life Membership from the Women of the Church. Her children thank the extended family and the community for their support and love. We are grateful to Sophia Gomillion for her loving care. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 10th, 10:30 AM, in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 12 noon at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church conducted by Reverend Gary Bryant and Reverend Wayne Cole.
