Richard L. Hall "Dick" CHARLOTTE - Dick Hall, 82, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on July 9, 2014, at his residence. A funeral service was held at 2:30 PM, Friday, July 11, 2014, in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service with Father Richard Hanson, celebrant. Interment with military honors followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Hall was born in Cattaraugus County, NY, in 1932, son of the late Harlow Jerry and Mable Hall. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, studied at St. Bonaventure University, and earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Phoenix. Dick was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Charlotte, a life member of the American Legion, and a Past Commander of Charles Harbel Post 892 in Allegany, NY. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and retired as a Quality Department Manager from Hysol Division, Dexter Corporation. Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, the former Rachel Carpenter of Portville NY, and his brother, Ernie Hall of Allegany NY. Dick is survived by Ms. Karen Miller and his four children, Richard, Teri, Kim, and Jerry. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
